ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the strategy for our Content & Engagement roadmap, in deep partnership with editorial and marketing stakeholders, across FOX News, FOX Business, OutKick and FOX Weather digital properties. This role requires someone who can combine editorial fluency with product expertise and is passionate about news.
You'll be the bridge between editorial teams, business stakeholders, and engineering; someone who understands the urgency of news, the complexities of 24/7 coverage, and the technical realities of digital platforms. You’ll set priorities based on editorial and audience needs, ensuring we’re shipping features that serve our content creators as well as our readers and viewers. Success requires technical credibility (you can speak engineering's language), editorial fluency (you understand news operations), and political savvy (you can navigate multiple business units with competing priorities).
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Editorial Partnership
Build and maintain deep relationships with editorial leaders
Deeply understand editorial workflows, breaking news operations, and content strategies
Attend editorial meetings to understand priorities and identify product opportunities
Translate editorial needs and business requirements into clear product strategies and roadmaps
Manage expectations across multiple business units with competing priorities
Define success metrics for editorial and audience engagement initiatives; measure and communicate impact
Make strategic product decisions about what to build, what to defer, and how to sequence editorial-focused features
Partner with editorial and engineering to define readiness standards and feature requirements for tentpole events, translating coverage priorities into product decisions under real-time constraints.
Marketing & Campaign Partnership
Partner with marketing teams on campaign requirements, promotional experiences, and special editorial projects
Coordinate product support for tentpole events, special coverage, and marketing campaigns
Balance marketing requests with editorial priorities and engineering capacity
Product Strategy & Roadmap Management
Own the Content and Engagement product strategy and roadmap: content discovery, interactivity, video experiences and tentpole events
Lead product strategy for high-stakes live coverage moments — including elections, breaking news, and major scheduled events — ensuring FOX News digital products deliver reliable, differentiated experiences during peak audience demand.
Partner with Acquisition & Retention and Core Experiences pillar leads to ensure Content & Engagement initiatives are sequenced against shared platform investments and cross-pillar dependencies.
Prioritize across business units based on impact, strategic value, and organizational capacity
Partner with other digital leaders to ensure your portfolio benefits from platform investments
Define success metrics for initiatives; measure and communicate impact to stakeholders
Create transparent roadmaps that set clear expectations with stakeholders and the wider product organization
Collaborate with engineering leadership early and often to ensure technical feasibility and architecture decisions are understood
Work backwards from a North Star vision based on functional discussions to balance high standards and the quickest delivery of value to our business and customers
Collaborate with analytics teams to understand user behavior, content performance, and business metrics
Team Leadership & Development
Manage a team of product managers across key workstreams within your domain area
Set clear expectations about decision-making authority and escalation
Create clarity on priorities for teams supporting the content and engagement roadmap
Ensure resources are allocated according to priorities and work planned
Foster collaborative culture between product, editorial, marketing, and engineering teams
Develop team's understanding of news operations, audience behavior, and business models
Partner with team on adoption of AI workflows to increase productivity and strategic capacity
AI-Powered Ways of Working
Demonstrate active, practiced use of AI agents across research, synthesis, PRD drafting, stakeholder communications, and sprint preparation
Set expectations for AI fluency across the PM team as a standard of practice
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Required
10+ years product management experience with 3+ years leading product teams or senior product roles
Deep passion for news, journalism, and understanding of editorial workflows and content strategy
Experience building digital media products, content platforms, or audience-facing consumer products
Proven ability to build strong relationships with editorial, business, and technical stakeholders
Exceptional stakeholder management skills: navigate competing priorities, manage expectations, build consensus
Read and interpret data: ability to work with analytics tools to answer product questions
Understand web and mobile architecture well enough to discuss technical decisions with engineering
Basic understanding of APIs, content management systems, and digital media infrastructure
Comfort with technical documentation and ability to review technical specifications
Familiarity with SEO, content discovery, and how audiences find and consume news
Excellent communication skills: can translate between editorial, business, and technical languages
Experience managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders and business units
Active user of AI tools for productivity (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) with willingness to develop these skills further
Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.

Track record growing audience engagement metrics (time spent, return visits, content depth)
Familiarity with CMS platforms, editorial workflows, or publishing toolchains
Experience at digital news organizations or media companies during election cycles or major news events
Background in audience growth, engagement optimization, or content strategy
Understanding of digital advertising and monetization
Experience managing operations teams or support functions
