Sr. Director, Product Management, Developer Experience - Autonomous Deployments

Sr Director, Product Management (PXDP65)

Capital One is a high-tech company, a scientific laboratory, and a nationally recognized brand all in one, reaching tens of millions of consumers. We are a passionate and entrepreneurial team embracing bold ideas, fostering collaboration, and delivering great experiences for our customers. The Developer Experience team is at the heart of our tech-forward approach, delivering enterprise capabilities and a common platform that enables our engineering teams to thrive in the cloud.

This role is at the center of our strategy to empower developers by fundamentally transforming how we release software. As the product leader for the Autonomous Deployments outcome, you will spearhead the vision and strategy to eliminate human intervention from software deployments. Your team will achieve this by building intelligent platforms and tools that automate manual testing, separate deployment from release with feature flags, automate approvals, and provide deep insights into production readiness. The success of this role will build the confidence necessary for 'no fear' autonomous releases—dramatically accelerating our time-to-market, freeing up developer time, and improving application stability. This work is core to Capital One’s mission to change banking for good!

The ideal candidate is a passionate, technology-driven leader who deeply empathizes with the challenges developers face in delivering high-quality software at scale.

As the Sr. Director, Product Management - Autonomous Deployments, you will:

  • Develop and champion a bold, long-term product strategy for Autonomous Deployments, connecting your vision to measurable improvements in release velocity, application stability, and developer productivity across the enterprise

  • Build, lead, and mentor a world-class team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and execution excellence focused on solving complex developer challenges

  • Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for intelligent, automated validation capabilities that build developer confidence and reduce reliance on manual testing

  • Partner closely with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and lines of business to ensure the solutions you build meet the complex quality, security, and operational needs of the enterprise

  • Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators that measure the impact of autonomous deployments, such as release velocity, change failure rates, and developer satisfaction

  • Work across the company to reimagine and design solutions that may defy organizational boundaries, ensuring the entire organization adopts a rapid test-and-learn approach

  • Be accountable for identifying and managing platform investment and key risk decisions to deliver a well-managed platform that enables higher quality and more resilient applications

  • Integrated Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves complex problems to deliver outcomes while mitigating product risks

  • Transformational Leadership - Leads cross functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment
