Overview

Bassett Healthcare Network , a progressive academic health system in central New York, and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, seeks a pediatrician to join a large multi-specialist group centered in Cooperstown, New York. Visa Sponsorship Available.

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated healthcare system that provides care and service to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. The organization includes five corporate - affiliated hospitals, as well as community and school-based health centers, skilled nursing facilities, and health partners in related fields. All of our outpatient pediatric practices are NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home certified.

Oneonta and Cooperstown are at the heart of Central New York’s beautiful Leatherstocking Region. They offer quiet rural living, enriched by cultural opportunities ranging from world-class museums to live opera, along with thriving academic communities, and spectacular outdoor recreation settings. New York City and Boston are just a few hours away by car.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  1. Outpatient pediatrics at the Oneonta health center in Oneonta, NY. Office hours are 8 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday. A four-10-hour day work week option is available.
  2. After hours, call 1:6 weeknights/weekends for back-up coverage of advanced practice clinicians (APCs) in the hospital. The pediatric inpatient service and Birthing Center at Bassett Medical Center (BMC) are staffed by APCs 24/7/365 along with a daytime hospitalist. The on-call pediatrician provides support in Cooperstown on evenings and weekends.
  3. Medical student instruction with academic appointment to the clinical faculty of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons
  4. Salary Range: $253,721 - $307,302 . This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good-faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
  5. Group Employed Model
  6. Bassett offers physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.
  7. Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000

Qualifications

  1. MD/DO/MBBS
  2. Board Eligible/Board Certified
  3. New York State Licensure
  4. BLS and PALS certification; NRP certification if taking part in back-up hospital birthing center coverage
  5. DEA Required
