Production Assistant

Acast
New York, NY

About Acast
Since 2014, Acast has been building the world’s most valuable podcast marketplace, creating the technology that connects podcast creators, advertisers, and listeners. Its marketplace spans more than 140,000 podcasts, 3,300 advertisers, and one billion quarterly listens. Crucially, those listens are monetized wherever they happen—across any podcast app or listening platform.

About the role

We are looking for an organized, creative, and proactive Production Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the engine that keeps our podcast production running smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of experience who wants to touch every aspect of audio, video, and digital media production, from the initial brainstorm to the final edit. You will split your time between creative content creation and vital operational support. On any given day, you might be researching upcoming guests and writing interview prep docs, cutting audio and video clips for social media, or ensuring our production schedules and databases are flawlessly up to date. This role is perfect for a resourceful storyteller who loves podcasts, possesses sharp attention to detail, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced media environment.

What you´ll do

Production & Content Creation

  • Bring stories to life: Regularly pitch creative story ideas, write and edit engaging scripts, and conduct interviews as needed.

  • Get hands-on with media: Manage audio and digital content through all stages of production—from cutting social media clips and assisting producers with audio/video editing to producing and editing transcripts.

  • Build the foundation: Conduct deep research and create thorough prep documents for podcast interviews so our hosts are always ready to shine.

Guest Coordination & Communication

  • Own the guest experience: Pitch and coordinate interview bookings, maintain smooth communication with both hosts and guests, and secure/coordinate tape syncs.

  • Be a community liaison: Interact with our listeners to answer questions and field requests, and maintain great relationships with our outside freelancers and vendors.

Operations & Marketing Support

  • Keep us on track: Monitor and help develop production schedules while keeping our internal databases and systems flawlessly up to date.

  • Grow our audience: Assist with the creation of social media campaigns and help track our success by building biweekly marketing and metrics reports.

Who you are

  • A Foundation in Media: You have 1–2 years of professional experience (ideally in a media or production environment) and a genuine passion for digital storytelling.

  • Audio & Video Savvy: You already know your way around audio and video production. You’re fluent in the Google Suite, Riverside, and audio editing software like Adobe Audition or Pro Tools. (Bonus points if you’ve used project management tools like Asana!)

  • Sharp Writing & Research Instincts: You are a gifted writer and editor with top-tier fact-checking skills. You’re resourceful, accurate, and savvy when it comes to digging up the best angle for a story.

  • Creative Edge: You don’t just execute ideas—you generate them. You can think creatively and conceptualize engaging stories across multiple formats.

  • Flawless Organization: You have strong time-management skills and an eye for detail. You’re capable of balancing administrative tasks with creative ones without dropping the ball, all while maintaining great interpersonal relationships.

Position is based out of New York, NY with a requirement to be in the office 3 days a week. Salary $60K + benefits.

Culture

Acast is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or any of the other wonderful characteristics that make us different.

Culture is our number one priority as a business. We believe people come first, and we work every day to enable autonomy, continuous improvement and bring out the best in people. We’re global and have remote teams, so it’s even more important that we strive for an open, inclusive and caring environment where everyone feels visible and welcome.

We consider ourselves a modern organization driven by strong values to create the best, most fulfilling and nurturing culture.

We very much look forward to finding the next great person to join our cause!
