Mechanical Engineer

A Mechanical Engineer - Designs, develops, and improves mechanical systems and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance, efficiency, and reliability. In a manufacturing environment, they collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to solve technical issues, optimize equipment, and ensure products meet engineering and safety standards.
Job Duties:
- Create and refine mechanical components and processes using CAD software.
- Develop prototypes and oversee testing to validate design functionality and performance.
- Ensure components meet customer specifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and procurement, to support project objectives.
- Communicate technical findings and project updates to stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Assist in the transition of components to production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including technical drawings, processes, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Rand’s AS9100 Quality Management System.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience in Defense related Manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience with CNC machining is a plus.
- Prior Management Experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Location: Falconer, NY.
