Position: Server (Dinner Shifts)
Location: Matsunori Handroll Bar — Long Island City, NY (2709 Thomson Ave)
Hours: Monday–Sunday, 4:30 PM – 10:30 PM (3-5 days a week minimum flexible)
Pay: NYC server minimum wage + tips
About Matsunori: Matsunori Handroll Bar is a walk-in sushi handroll bar from the Notoro Group, celebrated for its premium quality fish, A5 Wagyu, and caviar — all at an approachable price point. Originally born in Boston, Matsunori brought its philosophy of more fish, less rice to Long Island City, quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite for hand-crafted, Japanese-inspired handrolls made with impeccably fresh, thoughtfully sourced ingredients.
About the Role: We're looking for an enthusiastic and guest-focused Server to join our dinner team. If you're passionate about Japanese food, love connecting with people, and thrive in a lively environment, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and guide them through Matsunori's handroll menu and offerings
- Take accurate food and beverage orders via tablet and relay them to the kitchen
- Deliver handrolls and drinks in a timely and polished manner
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure a great experience
- Handle payments and process transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your section
- Collaborate closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff for smooth service
- Communicate any guest concerns to management promptly
Requirements:
- Prior serving experience preferred
- Passion for Japanese food and beverage a strong plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability for dinner shifts, including weekends
- Ability to stay on your feet and move throughout a full shift
