Controls Field Technician
Onsite (Mount Vernon, NY & NYC Metro)
Full time/Direct hire

We are looking for a self-directed professional who thrives in dynamic field environments and brings strong troubleshooting instincts, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes on every project.

Key Responsibilities:
•Install, commission, and optimize building automation systems (BAS) for commercial and multifamily customers.
•Repair or replace controls components such as; controllers, power supplies, transformers, sensors, transmitters, switches, relays, control valves etc.
•Proficiency with low and high voltage wiring for control relays, contactors, HOA starters, and VFDs
•Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for all controls-related issues during project execution and service calls.
•Diagnose and resolve complex system faults spanning controls, sensors, field devices, and software.
•Deliver turnkey project completion on small to medium-scale BAS installations with minimal supervision.
•Ensure all installed systems — including controls, sensors, and software — operate in accordance with design intent and customer requirements.
•Apply sound time management to coordinate across multiple active sites and maintain customer satisfaction.
•Document and communicate project status, system configurations, and any field deviations clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED.
•Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Building Automation System (BAS) installation and HVAC systems.
•Ability to work at heights — including climbing ladders and operating lift equipment 8+ feet above grade.
•Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
•Valid, current driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Demonstrated ability to navigate and integrate multiple building automation platforms and protocols.
•Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networks, including wireless technologies relevant to BAS environments.
•Experience managing concurrent, multi-disciplinary field challenges across a diverse customer portfolio.
•Ability to translate technical concepts clearly for non-technical building owners, operators, and property managers.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable in both team and independent work settings.
•Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
