Registered Nurse (RN)
Hayes Day School, located in Millbrook, NY, is a state-of-the-art facility serving 60 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are pursuing a Registered Nurse to supervise the medical and record-keeping needs of all students during scheduled school hours.This is an exciting opportunity to join a reliable and growing organization that prides itself on transforming lives and helping individuals achieve their greatest potential in a caring, supportive, and team-oriented environment.
This position is full time Monday – Friday, 8am-3:30pm, 35 hours per week.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
»Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in NYS
»At least one (1) year of practice in the nursing field is desired
»Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred
» practice working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred
What You’ll Do as the Registered Nurse (RN) (Responsibilities):
»Provide medical attention to the students
»Provide supervision and training of staff to meet the needs of the student
»Address issues relative to the health and safety of the students and the staff
»Maintain close communication with the residential nurses, sharing and receiving current and accurate information on all health-related issues
»Maintain communication with the parents of children who come in the house to attend HDS
»Assure that staff understand medical/health related issues and carry out proper procedure of delegated tasks, using hands-on instruction and regular visits to the classrooms
»Provide support and counsel to classroom staff in the area of updating feeding procedures, therapies, and other medical issues that arise
»Assess condition of all students as needed
Pay: $28.78-$30.92/hour
