Key Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of sophisticated commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
• Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, reviewing productions, and preparing discovery motions.
• Prepare for and participate in court appearances, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as needed.
• Develop case strategies and provide thoughtful legal analysis to support complex litigation matters.
• Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on case development, litigation strategy, and client counseling.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party stakeholders.
• Analyze complex factual, legal, and procedural issues and provide practical, strategic recommendations.
• Maintain high standards of written and oral advocacy in all client and court-facing work.
• Manage multiple active matters while meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional client service.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment within the New York office.
• Stay current on developments in commercial litigation law and applicable procedural rules in New York and relevant jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Must Have experience with Top Tier law Firm
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 4+ years of litigation experience at a law firm.
• Strong experience with commercial litigation and civil litigation matters.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience handling motion practice, depositions, and discovery independently.
• Familiarity with New York state and federal court procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and case management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage, construction litigation, or professional liability matters.
• Prior courtroom, arbitration, or trial experience.
• Experience managing junior associates or litigation support teams.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
• Federal court experience preferred.
