- Handle all phases of sophisticated commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
- Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, reviewing productions, and preparing discovery motions.
- Prepare for and participate in court appearances, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as needed.
- Develop case strategies and provide thoughtful legal analysis to support complex litigation matters.
- Collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys on case development, litigation strategy, and client counseling.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party stakeholders.
- Analyze complex factual, legal, and procedural issues and provide practical, strategic recommendations.
- Maintain high standards of written and oral advocacy in all client and court-facing work.
- Manage multiple active matters while meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional client service.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment within the New York office.
- Stay current on developments in commercial litigation law and applicable procedural rules in New York and relevant jurisdictions.
Qualifications
- Must Have experience with Top Tier law Firm
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
- Minimum of 4+ years of litigation experience at a law firm.
- Strong experience with commercial litigation and civil litigation matters.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
- Experience handling motion practice, depositions, and discovery independently.
- Familiarity with New York state and federal court procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and case management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage, construction litigation, or professional liability matters.
- Prior courtroom, arbitration, or trial experience.
- Experience managing junior associates or litigation support teams.
- Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
- Federal court experience preferred.
