Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

• Position Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)

• Facility: Community Hospital, 20-bed unit
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020 - $2080
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Scrub Colors: Navy and white

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York RN license (must be in hand before start date)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Proficient with Epic electronic charting
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with rapid response teams, peripheral IV care, non-invasive airway management, and infection control protocols
• Willingness to float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Travel nurses only; not accepting local candidates within 75 miles
• First-time travelers welcome (Epic experience required)

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as spinal stenosis, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), diabetic ulcers, lung carcinoma, and pleural effusions
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and initiate rapid response protocols
• Perform peripheral IV care, oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks), and non-invasive airway management
• Implement isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and more
• Float to other Med/Surg units within scope to support facility needs
• Document patient care using Epic EMR system
