Host
Position Overview:
We are seeking a polished, personable, and highly organized Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. As the face of our upscale American Bistro, you will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience by providing a warm welcome, managing reservations with precision, and ensuring seamless guest flow throughout service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests promptly with a warm, professional, and engaging demeanor
- Manage reservations and walk-in seating using reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable)
- Coordinate table assignments to optimize service efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Maintain an accurate waitlist and provide realistic wait time estimates
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and VIP accommodations with discretion and care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand and entrance area
- Uphold the restaurant’s brand standards, ambiance, and commitment to hospitality
Qualifications:
- Previous hosting or front-of-house experience in an upscale or fine dining environment preferred
- Experience with Open Table
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced setting
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
