York Club Fitness, opening at 1433 York Avenue, New York, NY, is set to become the Upper East Side’s premier destination for total-body wellness. We provide a sophisticated fitness environment with 24-hour access on weekdays, top-tier cardio and strength equipment, elite personal training sessions, and boutique-style group fitness classes. York Club Fitness offers personalized service and upscale amenities tailored to your goals.

Role Descriptions

York Club Fitness is seeking dedicated professionals for multiple, on-site roles. We are seeking individuals who are interested in: Personal Training/Group Fitness Instructor and Membership Sales.

Responsibilities will vary by role but may include delivering exceptional customer service, leading group fitness sessions, providing personal training, maintaining facilities, and assisting with wellness services. Team members will contribute to creating a welcoming, luxury gym experience focused on health and wellness for all clients.

Qualifications

Personal Trainers/ Group Fitness Instructors:

Required Qualifications

• Current fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in personal training or group fitness preferred.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Ability to motivate and manage individuals in a high-energy environment.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Reliable availability, punctuality, and professional demeanor.
• Must be willing to work as a 1099 commissioned based employee.
• Must be willing to commit to a full time personal training position for at least one-year with York Club Fitness. Group Fitness instructors must commit to teaching at least 3 classes a week.
• Must be willing to engage with the community and build your own book of business.
• We do not offer health benefits, sick leave, or paid vacation at this time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in boutique or studio-based fitness environments
• Specialty certifications (HIIT, Strength, Pilates, Yoga, Mobility, Athletic Training, or Conditioning, Pre/Post Natal)
• Sales or membership engagement experience
• Social media or brand ambassador experience within fitness

Membership Sales

Required Qualifications

• 5+ year of experience in customer service, sales, hospitality, or fitness operations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales or performance targets
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
• Comfort working in a performance-based, commission-driven environment
• Basic proficiency with CRM, scheduling software, or POS systems
• Must be willing to engage with our hyper local community and generate leads.
• Must be willing to work early mornings/ late evenings weekends and holidays as we are a 24hrs/ 7 days a week business.
• Must be willing to work as a full-time 1099 employee and commit to at least one-year with York Club Fitness.
• Must have a passion for fitness and is confident speaking about their own fitness journey.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in boutique fitness, hospitality, or wellness environments
• Background in membership sales, inside sales, or customer success
• Familiarity with lead management systems (e.g., Mindbody, Zen Planner, Salesforce, HubSpot)
• Social media engagement or community marketing experience
