Maintenance Manager

The Museum of Arts and Design is looking for a Maintenance Manager for its facility on Columbus Circle. This is a full-time (40 hours) exempt position, with additional/flexible hours if needed. The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) champions contemporary makers across creative fields and presents the work of artists, designers, and artisans who apply the highest level of ingenuity and skill. MAD provides an opportunity for employees to enrich and develop their love of art, craft and design while contributing their specific skills, expertise, and talents.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee installations, inspections, repairs, renovations, routine maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as building, mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety and plumbing systems.
• Perform and or coordinate small renovation and/or construction projects throughout the building including but not limited to: painting, molding installation/repair, special installations such as lighting fixtures/design related installs, floor refinishing, metal cleaning polishing, furniture relocation/installation
• Operate, maintain, and repair building equipment for services related to plumbing, gas, HVAC, generator, domestic water, electricity, etc.
• Vendor management for building services such as elevator, window washing, trash removal and the coordination of monthly and annual building services testing
• Supervise and coordinate daily and special event porters for all building cleaning
• Implement the cleaning schedule for daily, monthly and annual services to be rendered
• Maintain inventory of facility supplies and submit orders as necessary
• Coordinate and/or perform snow removal as necessary
• Some evening and weekend responsibilities involving scheduled work and emergency situations.
• Assist with event set-up/breakdown as necessary
• Cross-train for other department responsibilities as necessary

Skills and Qualifications:

Should possess a valid New York Certificate of Fitness for:

(S-95) Certificate of Fitness for Supervision Of Fire Alarm Systems

(F-03) Certificate of Fitness for Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel

(F-04) Certificate of Fitness for Temp/Outdoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel

· Experience and aptitude in basic building repairs: Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC

· Must have 5+ years’ experience in hands-on building operations.

· Good personal communication and cooperation skills a must.

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

· Must be comfortable working at heights.

Compensation:

$75,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills
