What We Do

For more than 70 years, we have been 100% invested in the success of our clients. Pursuit offers a suite of innovative financing products designed to expand access to capital for small businesses. Our range of loans and lines of credit range from $10,000 to $5.5 million for businesses ready to make their next big investment. We have designed our application processes and loan terms with more flexibility than traditional banks. Our signature loan programs include commercial real estate financing, general business funding, and fast business funding through a digital platform. We leverage deep, long-term relationships with banks and community partners to serve clients in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

About the Job

This is a chance to shape communities and fuel small business success. Pursuit is looking for a Commercial Loan Officer in New York City who thrives on building relationships and expanding access to capital. This role is about creating opportunities - not just identifying them – and helping trusted partners and business owners connect with the resources they need to grow.

You will work with a team of experienced lenders to cultivate a high-potential market, working alongside bankers, community organizations, attorneys, accountants, and other referral partners to promote Pursuit’s mission and loan programs, with a focus on SBA 504 loans.

Based in or near New York City with the ability to effectively market across the assigned region.

What You’ll Do

Here’s what success looks like in this role:

· Generate New Business

Develop and maintain a strong network of referral partners, banks, credit unions, CPAs, attorneys, real estate brokers, and economic development organizations.

· Originate SBA 504 Loans

Package and submit high-quality loan applications that meet both client needs and credit requirements.

· Promote Pursuit’s Products and Mission

Present at events and meetings, educating the market on Pursuit’s unique value and inclusive approach to lending.

· Collaborate Across Teams

Work closely with team members, including lenders, processors, credit analysts, and closing coordinators to ensure an efficient process and an exceptional borrower experience.

· Stay Visible and Accessible

Spend time in the market-meeting face-to-face with partners and prospects across the region to build trust and deepen relationships.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a confident and capable commercial lender who checks most of these boxes:

· Education : Bachelor’s degree (required)

· Experience : 3+ years in commercial lending or business banking

· Credit Knowledge : Strong credit analysis skills; formal credit training a big plus

· SBA Familiarity : Previous SBA 504 or 7(a) experience preferred

· Communication : Clear, persuasive, and professional in writing and in person

· Presentation Skills : Comfortable presenting to referral partners and prospects

· Self - starter Mentality: You take initiative and follow through without needing direction.

Additional Information

· We will give consideration to and provide training for veterans interested in a career in finance/ banking provided that the applicant has completed at least two years of college with an accredited institution.

· Final candidates must pass all pre-employment screenings, including background check, credit check, and drug screening.

Based on our compensation benchmarking survey, the estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 – $150,000 and is commensurate with education and commercial lending experience.
