Site Monitor SYEP - 5028

The Department of Children and Youth is seeking a Site Monitor to support our Summer Youth Employment Program initiative. Under the direction and supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Site Monitor will visit worksites weekly to assess participants, conduct evaluations, and pick up timesheets.
The primary responsibilities of the Site Monitor will include: assisting with the development and monitoring of the worksite; co-facilitate orientation sessions for participants; act as a liaison between participant; administrative staff, and worksite staff; complete incident reports and keep supervisors abreast of all matters; ensure timesheets are collected and submitted to the administrative team in a timely manner; assist with the developing and processing paperwork for the worksites; and complete participants intake and enrollment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organization, time management and problem solving skills while being able to function effectively in a fast paced program environment. They must be able to multitask, have a keen eye for details, be computer savvy, and able to engage individuals from various backgrounds. They will have prior experience working in a social service setting, understand youth development principles and comfortable co-facilitating workplace development workshops. They must be flexible and comfortable taking initiative, working in a group or independently and able to travel weekly to worksites.
QUALIFCATIONS
- Some college, Associates degree preferred
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment
- Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- Experience with or knowledge of best practices in youth development preferred
- Good time management, organizational, writing, and communication skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a nurturing and supportive environment for the youth
- Act as a liaison with participants, program staff and worksite
- Manage paperwork in an organized, secure and confidential manner
PROGRAM SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete participants intake and enrollment
- Assist with the developing and processing paperwork for worksites
- Assist with the development and monitoring of the worksite fair
- Co-facilitate orientation session for participants in the program
- Visits worksites weekly to assess participants, conduct evaluations, pick up timesheets
- Act as a liaison with participants, administrative staff and worksite staff
- Complete incident reports and keep supervisor abreast of all matters
- Ensure timesheets are collected and submitted to the administrative team in a timely manner
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of NYC and its adjacent counties
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to speak clearly
- Ability to reach by extending hand(s) and/or arm(s) in any direction
- Ability to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm, for example, using a keyboard or a phone
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time in all types of weather, including inclement weather
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs
Job Type: Part-Time/Temporary Salary: $20 hourly
Work hours will be 25 hours weekly; schedule may include Saturdays and evenings and run from June 2026 to August 2026.
