Purchasing Manager

Job Profile – Purchasing Manager:
As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spending, source better cost and quality suppliers and negotiate better terms with vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers, both domestic and international, with a focus on SE Asian suppliers.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation and compile RFQs for key goods and services.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks as it relates to purchased parts availability and costs.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand, collaborate with inventory teams, and ensure right level of key inventory availability.
- Supervise purchasing staff, as needed.
Requirements and skills:
- 7+ years' proven work experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent, or Officer, with at least 3 years in vendor development in SouthEast Asian markets .
- Experience in sourcing industrial goods (preferred).
- Good understanding of import requirements.
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
- Familiarity with working with customs and freight brokerage firms.
- Ability to partner across stakeholders to understand design, functionality and cost drivers.
- Familiarity with full cycle RFQ process.
- Outstanding negotiation skills in cost and terms management.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
- Working experience of vendor management software.
- Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
- Solid judgment along with decision making skills.
- Good understanding of economic order quantities.
- Well versed ERP systems, preferably Netsuite as it relates to PO and invoicing management.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite “Advanced Procurement” module a plus.
- Certification in purchasing or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
Salary range: $100k to 120k annually plus bonus
