Director of Payroll Operations
Kforce's client, a long-standing, Queens, NY based service firm seeks a Director of Payroll Operations. This role will work a hybrid schedule after the in-office training period. This is a newly created position due to growth within the company. Key Responsibilities:
- Will process for over 20k employees
- Manage a team of 5+
- Oversee payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with labor laws and tax regulations
- Manage payroll audits and partner with HR, Finance, and Legal to implement compensation and benefits changes
- Lead payroll tax compliance, filings, and serve as the primary contact for tax agencies
- Mentor and develop a team of payroll professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Drive payroll system upgrades, automation, and process enhancements for maximum efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize payroll and tax reporting capabilities
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification required
- 10+ years of payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Expertise in multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and payroll software (ADP, Paychex, UKG)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
