About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced, organized, and emotionally intuitive General Manager to lead The Paris Café, a landmark restaurant in the heart of New York’s Seaport District. This is a rare opportunity to steward a piece of New York history while guiding it into its next chapter. The ideal candidate is both operationally sharp and people-first, as well as a confident leader who can honor a legacy while shaping its future.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring service feels as genuine and welcoming as if you were hosting guests in your own living room.
- Be the confident, capable face of a historic brand, connecting authentically with guests and the community.
- Lead with empathy and uphold a culture of dignity, inclusion, and respect across all roles and departments.
- Build, mentor, and motivate a team that thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Manage scheduling, labor, payroll, and operational costs using systems such as Toast, OpenTable, Harri, and MarginEdge.
- Develop and implement SOPs, training tools, and compliance systems in line with NYC labor laws.
- Collaborate with ownership on budgets, forecasting, and strategic planning for growth and profitability.
- Maintain a deep understanding of NYC’s dining culture and neighborhood identity, aligning the restaurant’s direction with the city’s evolving pulse.
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years as a General Manager or Director-level leader in high-volume, high-profile restaurants.
- Demonstrated success leading diverse teams and elevating guest experience.
- Deep knowledge of NYC restaurant operations and labor compliance.
- Strong operational fluency with platforms like Toast, Harri, and MarginEdge.
- A people-first leadership approach that balances accountability with care.
- The confidence and charisma to energize a room while embodying humility and professionalism.
- A genuine passion for hospitality as a craft rooted in connection and consistency.
