Now entering a high-growth phase, this innovative team is searching for a Head of Tax Innovation someone who can bridge traditional tax expertise with cutting-edge software design. This is your chance to not only lead tax strategy but to directly influence how AI interprets and interacts with the most nuanced areas of U.S. tax law.

The Opportunity:

This isn't a back-office role. You'll be seated at the front lines of product innovation, helping to build tools that solve real-world tax prep challenges for some of the top firms in the industry. You'll work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and the founding team to bring clarity, compliance, and intelligence to a platform that's reshaping how CPAs work forever.

What You'll Do:

• Set the Vision for Tax Intelligence: Define how the AI platform understands and processes complex tax data, especially around pass-through entities and tiered structures.

• Shape Product Direction: Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to design features that align with real-world filing requirements and firm workflows.

• Own the Tax Playbook: Provide critical insights on evolving tax laws, new IRS forms, and industry needs that inform data models and extraction logic.

• Guide Implementation: Serve as the internal tax authority and external-facing expert in client demos, onboarding, and educational materials.

• Spot the Gaps: Identify inefficiencies in existing tax software and partner with development to close them with smarter, faster solutions.

What You Bring:

• Active CPA license

• 2-6 years of experience in public accounting or tax advisory roles

• Deep understanding of K-1s, K-3s , multi-state returns, and tiered entity taxation

• Familiarity with tax prep tools like CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, SurePrep, SafeSend, K1x

• A strong sense of ownership, and ability to thrive in ambiguity

• Excellent communication skills you can speak both tax and tech

Bonus Points For:

• Comfort working with structured data (Excel power user, JSON familiarity a plus)

• Experience advising or working within a tech startup , especially in a product-focused role

• A personal interest in automation , AI, or tax innovation
