Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Retail Property Patrol in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a retail environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and support a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible throughout the location, and provide exceptional customer service while communicating clearly with staff and guests. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations within the retail location in a calm and problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
- Assist visitors, employees, and customers by providing information or direction when requested.
- Document and report incidents, observations, and maintenance concerns according to Allied Universal protocols.
- Work in varying conditions depending on specific areas of the retail location, maintaining a visible presence as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
