Part-time Office Assistant Psychology Private Practice

DESCRIPTION of POSITION:

Part-time office assistant position entails 20-24 hours over 4-5 days per week, primarily in Bayside, Queens office, as well as virtual work, and occasional hours in Union Square, Manhattan office.

JOB CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

● Warm, honest, precocious, flexible, quick learner with an open mind and positive attitude

● Reliable, highly professional, independent, efficient, organized, detail-oriented, and excellent at multi-tasking, including balancing time-sensitive tasks and longer-term projects.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Comfortable interacting with individuals with special needs, children, and family members.

● Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Dropbox.

● Experience with EHR systems, medical billing, and HIPAA preferred.

● Must be comfortable with advertising and outreach using Canva, WordPress, and social media networks.

● Maintains strict confidentiality.

● Previous experience working in a therapy or other health services office a plus.

● This position is often ideal for students currently in graduate school.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Responding to inquiries for services

● Interfacing with employer’s clients, employees and colleagues

● Maintaining EHR and related filing systems and ongoing paperwork, and performing other clerical tasks

● Tracking clinical and billing data using spreadsheets and the EHR system

● Light billing of clients and insurance companies

● Ordering supplies

● Tracking data using spreadsheets and the EHR system

● General upkeep of the office environment

● Occasional light errands in the neighborhood
