Job Summary
The Teen Program Director is responsible for leading the Seneca Street Community Development Corporation’s (SSCDC) Teen Program, impacting youth between the ages of 13 and 18. The Teen Program Director will be responsible for providing support with planning, organizing and conducting teen programs and activities throughout the school year and summer to engage teens in both educational and developmental opportunities. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing oversight of the Mayor’s Summer Youth Program and its daily operations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead a variety of cultural and enrichment activities for weekly Teen Nights.
• Develop after school programming for teens, both academic and social/emotional.
• Supervise tutors and college students working with teens; recruit additional tutors as needed
• Ensure teens are completing homework, preparing for Regents exams, etc.
• Communicate with parents as needed
• Plan and execute annual teen fundraising events
• Assist with college application process to include financial aid applications
• Assist with resume development and job interview preparation, and work with teens to explore career opportunities
• Assist with parent and volunteer orientations
• Assist Youth Program Director with daily operations and discipline issues
• Oversee and manage Mayor’s Summer Youth Program to include applications, orientation, payroll, and leading weekly staff meetings
• Develop job readiness training in conjunction with Youth Program Director, including the coordination of guest speakers
• Provide support to program graduates, post high school, that are participating in jobs, college, training programs, etc.
• Complete other related duties as required

Qualifications Required:

• Completion of some college coursework, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Passion and enjoyment in working with the teenage population (ages 13-18)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and keep pace with an active teen population

Compensation Package:

• The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills and experience will inform their specific salary; salary range for this position is $43,000-$46,000
• Paid time off in alignment with the Buffalo Public School schedule, typically about five weeks annually
• Medical and dental insurance, IRA plan
