Head Start Floating Teaching Assistant

Head Start Floating Teacher Assistant- $16.50-$16.75/hour

Pro Action’s Head Start Program is looking for a full-time, 10-month, floating teaching assistant for our Head Start classrooms throughout Steuben and Yates Counties. 

The Teaching Assistant partners with the Teacher in the planning and implementation of daily activities in the Pre-K classroom, adhering to Head Start Performance Standards, NYS Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations and all other applicable program regulations. Working in a team environment, the Teaching Assistant will participate in weekly planning sessions, attend training and meetings as required, ensure a safe and healthy classroom environment, assist in classroom, and program modifications and help with inventory as needed.

A Child Development Associate (CDA) or an associate’s degree in early childhood is required, or the candidate must be currently enrolled in a program leading to a CDA or associate’s degree in early childhood with experience in a preschool setting. The ideal candidate must work well with children, have basic computer skills and excellent organization.

The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meeting agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
