Analyst data
MLB is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Analyst, Fan Data to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about baseball and possess a strong analytical mindset. This role is crucial for leveraging our extensive fan data to develop a deeper understanding of fan behavior, inform strategic decisions, and drive revenue growth. You will be responsible for analyzing fan data across many sources, including ticketing, marketing, digital platforms, and merchandise sales, to create a holistic view of our fans. The role requires strong technical skills and a desire to translate complex data into actionable insights that help grow and monetize MLB's fan database.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze fan data from various sources to build a comprehensive view of fan behavior and identify key trends and patterns
- Develop and analyze fan audience segments to support personalized fan engagement strategies, and new revenue initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, ticketing, and product) to understand business needs and deliver insights that inform strategic decision-making and identify new monetization opportunities
- Clearly communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to help them understand how fan data can be used to achieve business goals
- Support data integrity efforts to ensure that data used for analysis is accurate and reliable
Qualifications and Skills
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field)
- Some to 2 years of professional experience working in sports or events businesses
- Foundational knowledge of data analysis techniques and languages including SQL, Python, R
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools e.g. Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex, cross-functional datasets and translate them into actionable business insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with various teams to understand their needs and deliver valuable data solutions
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
