The Opportunity

The Creative Ops Specialist supports the creative team behind all owned and licensed brands within the Designer Brands portfolio. Manages the flow of creative projects from concept through delivery, ensuring teams stay aligned, organized, and moving at the pace of fashion. Develops and maintains the systems, processes, and communication channels that keep creative work running smoothly. Guides cross functional collaboration to help bring meaningful, on brand storytelling and campaign work to life. This position is Hybrid in our New York office.

What You'll Be Doing

Project + Workflow Management

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of creative projects—from ideation to delivery—ensuring timelines, scope, and brand standards are met.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and guiding teams toward on time execution.
  • Monitor progress across all active projects and proactively address potential delays or roadblocks.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and helping allocate resources effectively.

Process Optimization

  • Streamline creative workflows by identifying bottlenecks and introducing improvements that support team efficiency.
  • Implement tools, systems, and best practices that strengthen project delivery and elevate the creative team's output.
  • Continually evaluate processes to keep the department operating with clarity, consistency, and agility.

Cross Team Partnership

  • Act as the link between creative teams (design, copy, photography) and internal partners such as marketing, product development, and sales.
  • Facilitate communication so every team remains aligned on project goals, timelines, and expectations.
  • Partner with internal teams and external collaborators to gather project requirements and develop clear, actionable creative briefs.

Creative Asset Management

  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of creative assets—photos, video, graphics, copy, and more.
  • Manage centralized storage systems to ensure easy access and consistent brand representation.
  • Support asset tracking and version control to keep all teams working with the most update materials.

Vendor + Partner Coordination

  • Collaborate with agencies, freelancers, and other external partners to execute creative projects.
  • Manage relationships, timelines, and deliverables to ensure consistency with brand standards and project expectations.

Industry + Trend Awareness

  • Stay connected to shifts in the fashion industry, creative operations, and project management practices.
  • Integrate insights into workflows and tools to help the team stay competitive and forward thinking.

What You'll Need

Required Skills

Project + Operations Expertise

  • 3–5 years of experience in creative operations, project management, or production management within the fashion industry or similar creative environment.
  • Strong project management abilities, including multitasking across timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Experience with project management tools such as WorkFront or Trello.

Creative + Industry Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of fashion industry dynamics and creative team needs.
  • Familiarity with creative processes, workflows, and brand consistency requirements.
  • Experience working in fast paced creative environments.

Communication + Collaboration Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, especially when partnering with both creative and non-creative teams.
  • Ability to build strong cross department relationships and communicate challenges, updates, and solutions clearly.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with digital asset management systems and design related tools (e.g., SharePoint, Bynder).
  • Experience with workflow management tools such as Airtable is a plus.

Organization + Problem Solving

  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort managing many moving pieces at once.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify issues early and take proactive steps to resolve them.

Education (Preferred)

  • Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Fashion Marketing, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in creative operations or project management within the fashion industry.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field.

Additional Details : The successful candidate's actual pay rate offer will consider a wide range of job-related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate's location, and other organizational needs. The estimated hiring pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential. This position may be eligible for additional incentive compensation, which may include bonuses, or other forms of variable pay, subject to applicable program requirements and company discretion. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, and/or retirement benefits, unless required by law.
