Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Sugarman Law Firm, LLP, a leading firm in Upstate New York, seeks to add a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to our Syracuse office. The firm specializes in representing licensed professionals such as doctors, nurses, architects, engineers, and accountants as well as municipalities engaged in complex litigation. The firm also has substantial construction, commercial, insurance, and personal injury practices. The candidate will assist attorneys in the day-to-day handling of cases from inception through trial.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and revise documents.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Provide general support to attorneys.
- Schedule and maintain attorney calendars.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Filing and other administrative tasks.
Qualifications/Skills:
- A minimum of five years of Paralegal/Legal Assistant experience.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Knowledge of New York State and Federal court filing procedures including e-filing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, WordPerfect, and ability to operate office technology.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments in an accurate and timely manner.

The available position offers a salary range from $50,000 to $55,000 depending on experience and skill set.
