Visitor Services Summer Associate

Description:

The Paleontological Research Institution is seeking a part-time Visitor Services staff member for Summer 2026 to work at our Museum of the Earth. Visitor Services staffprovide guests with a high level of customer service and an exceptional customer experience while visiting PRI’s public venues. This position is responsible for a broad range of activities including admissions, engaging with guests, presenting information and educational programs, and handling questions and complaints.

Visitor Services Associates are an integral part of the Paleontological Research Institution. As ambassadors, associates are PRI’s connection to over 30,000 visitors per year. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on a wide variety of topics through our exhibitions and public programming while meeting diverse individuals and being a part of a dynamic staff.

Responsibilities will include:

• Directly interact with the public, providing exceptional customer service
• Operate the Point of Sale system and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
• Receive store inventory
• Create checklists for opening and closing procedures and daily cleaning tasks
• Assist in preparation for special events and public programs
• Other duties as assigned

• Professionalism, patience, and manners with diverse populations from around the world
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Outgoing personality and positive attitude
• Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment, but also independently as needed
• Have a High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate
• Have flexibility with availability including working evenings, weekends, and holidays

Position: Temporary part-time (20-24 hours per week). Must be available to work weekends.

Salary: $17.00-$18.00/hour
