Real Estate Senior Associate or Counsel

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Senior Associate or Counsel to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in New York, New York .

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 6+ years of commercial real estate finance experience to join a nationally recognized real estate practice representing lenders in sophisticated financing transactions. The ideal candidate will have the experience and confidence to independently manage complex transactions from initial structuring through closing.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent lenders in a broad range of commercial real estate financing transactions.

• Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents and related financing agreements.

• Conduct and oversee title and survey review and diligence.

• Structure and manage complex real estate finance transactions from inception through closing.

• Coordinate with borrowers, lenders, title companies, surveyors, and opposing counsel to ensure successful transaction execution.

• Provide strategic legal advice on financing structures, risk allocation, and real estate-related issues.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

• Active Bar membership in good standing.

• 6+ years of commercial real estate finance experience.

• Significant experience representing lenders in real estate financing transactions.

• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating loan documentation.

• Strong background in title and survey review and due diligence.

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions from initial structuring through closing.

• Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.

• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $365,000–$425,000 , depending on experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors.
