Maitre D

Brasserie Boulud is seeking an experienced and highly polished Maître D’ to lead the guest experience at the front door. This role is responsible for managing reservations, overseeing the host team, and ensuring seamless dining room flow while delivering exceptional, personalized hospitality. The Maître D’ serves as the face of the restaurant, setting the tone for every guest interaction and upholding the highest standards of fine dining service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, gracious, and professional welcome to all guests, including VIPs and regular clientele
• Oversee and manage all reservations, seating arrangements, and table assignments to optimize service flow
• Lead by example, and support, the host team to ensure consistency in service standards
• Maintain a strong presence at the door and dining room, anticipating guest needs and resolving issues proactively
• Build and maintain relationships with repeat guests, noting preferences and enhancing personalized service
• Coordinate closely with management, Servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth pacing of service
• Manage waitlists effectively and communicate accurate wait times to guests
• Handle guest concerns with discretion, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset
• Ensure the host stand and entrance area reflect the restaurant’s standards of excellence at all times
• Utilize reservation platforms (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) and maintain accurate guest profiles and notes

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant, with leadership experience in a host, or Maître D’ role
• Strong knowledge of reservation systems such as OpenTable and Resy
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
• Professional, polished demeanor with a strong sense of hospitality and guest recognition
• Ability to lead by example and foster a team-oriented environment
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the restaurant for extended periods
• Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
