Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 4 Shifts per Week | Every Other Weekend
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Duration: 06/22/2026 – 09/26/2026
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Wound Care to provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care services in a hospital setting in New York, New York. The RN will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, provide education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
This opportunity offers strong extension potential and the possibility of permanent placement.
Responsibilities
Conduct health assessment interviews focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care
Perform focused physical assessments and develop individualized care plans
Assess and document patient responses to wound care treatments and interventions
Recommend medications, treatments, supplies, technology, and equipment as appropriate
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and initiate referrals when needed
Provide patient, family, and staff education related to wound and ostomy management
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nursing quality programs
Initiate preventative measures for patients at risk for pressure injuries
Assist with staff orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs
Manage specialty equipment including specialty beds and negative pressure devices
Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with patient rights policies
Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and support conflict resolution when necessary
Requirements
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required
Active New York State RN License required
AHA BLS Certification required
Current certification in CWOCN, CWON, CWCN, CWS, or WCC required
Minimum two years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
Previous wound care and colostomy care experience required
Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
Experience in patient and staff education preferred
Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills
