Medical Records Coding Administrative Assistant
Location: New Hyde Park, NY
Pay Rate: $24–$27/hr
Position Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Coding Specialist I to support health information management functions, including coding, record tracking, and documentation processing in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Code admissions and re-admissions using ICD-9-CM guidelines
- Manage discharge charts and maintain organized filing systems
- Track chart locations, transfer logs, and record deficiencies
- Process physician requests and internal medical record requests
- Perform general clerical duties within the medical records department
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1+ year of medical coding experience
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Excellent typing, organization, and communication skills
- CCS or CCS-P certification preferred
