Han Chiang opened the first Han Dynasty restaurant in Philadelphia in 2008. It has since grown to six Philly restaurants and four in New York City. The restaurant seats 60 in addition to a full bar, delivery and takeout also feature prominently.

The General Manager (GM) must lead and inspire by modeling behavior and through coaching, developing and genuinely caring for the staff every day.

The General Manager plans and coordinates the operations of the restaurant by working closely with the Director of Operations. Together they ensure that the operational areas of their business are operating efficiently, effectively, and profitably while achieving the larger company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the excellence of the service and hospitality provided by the entire team
• Lead the staff in providing a consistently outstanding guest experience
• Communicate and enforce standards
• Control labor, COGS, and repair and maintenance expenses
• Ensure proper cash handling, invoice processing
• Write FOH schedule and process weekly payroll
• Provide periodic staff assessment and training plans
• Be a representative of the brand and identify key neighborhood partnerships
• Design strategy and set goals for growth
• Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
• Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)

What You Bring to the Table:

• 3+ years of leadership experience in hospitality
• Ability to lead and empower a team
• Superb guest service skills
• English fluency, Spanish and Chinese languages a plus
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Financial acumen
