Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced RN Psych ER nurse for a travel assignment in New York. This role focuses on providing psychiatric care within an emergency room setting, helping patients with diverse mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities of the RN Psych ER

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients
• Diagnose the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend treatment options
• Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans
• Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary
• Assist clients in understanding their emotional disturbances and need for treatment
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
• Test for vital signs of pain and ensure treatment of pain
• Document all patient information on medical charts and follow physician's written orders
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate records of patient treatments, immunizations, and lab results
• Perform administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, and completing progress notes in the computer system
• Provide courteous, high-quality service to patients and the public

Requirements of the RN Psych ER

• NY License ONLY
• BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY
• Telemetry experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience
