manager: Director of Benefits & HR Systems
Position Purpose: Under the supervision of the Director of Benefits & HR Systems leads leave administration, facilitates benefit enrollments, processes changes, and ensures effective communication with employees, campus partners and third-party vendors, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being and satisfaction of Union College employees.
This is currently a two-year term position, subject to extension or possible realignment of tasks at that time.
Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
» Leave Administration: Leads the everyday administration of all types of leaves, including but not limited to Short-Term Discapability, Long-Term Discapability, Workers' Compensation, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), personal Leaves, etc. Ensures timely submission of required documentation to appropriate third-party vendors and updates/maintains the leave tracking system. Maintains accurate records in conformity with federal, state and local labor laws and regulations. Coordinate with the Environment Health & Safety team to provide accident avoidance training and investigate accident causes.
» Benefit Support: Assists in the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, and wellness initiatives. Processes employee benefit enrollment and change requests. Ensures timely and accurate data entry and provides appropriate follow-up communication with employee, payroll and third-party vendors as necessary. Assists with the communication and administration of employee benefit programs and open enrollment process. Provides assistance in the collection of data and feedback to enhance benefit offerings located on employee needs.
» Administration: Assists with development and updating of benefit and leave communication materials, forms, records and maintenance of the Human Resources related websites. Maintains the Human Resources' Instagram account in coordination with team members. Assists with open enrollment activities and other benefits-related events.
Qualifications required
»Associate's degree and a minimum of one to three years general HR practice, preferably in a higher education setting, and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice.
»Demonstrated positive interpersonal and customer service expertise, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
»Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic familiarity with Google Apps, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and web-page administration.
» capability to excel in managing multiple competing priorities.
»The capability to allocate time efficiently to various tasks while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Compensation
The rate for this job offer is $19.00-21.50 per hour. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
