Job Title: RN - PACU

Location: Syracuse, NY

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 – 15:00)

Block Scheduling: Not available

Local Pay : $60/hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking RN - PACU for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia (general, regional, and sedation)
• Assess and manage airway, breathing, circulation, and neurological status
• Provide pain management and administer medications as prescribed
• Identify and respond to post-operative complications, including respiratory distress and hemodynamic instability
• Manage Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
• Perform continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NY or compact eligibility)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU, ICU, or critical care experience
• Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery protocols
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, airway management, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Ability to recognize and manage post-operative complications

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification (if applicable)
• 3–5 years of PACU experience
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Experience with high-acuity surgical cases (cardiac, neuro, trauma)
