Travel Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse – Travel Assignment
• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (New York nursing jobs)
• Unit: Stepdown/PCU (SSDU)
• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare job
• Start Date: September 16, 2025
• End Date: December 16, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 24 beds, daily census of 22
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Floating: Required to ICU and/or Med-Surg units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Experience in dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response teams, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drips (no titration), non-invasive airway management, and telemetry
• Must reside more than 75 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• First-time travel nurses welcome!

Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric patients requiring stepdown/PCU level care
• Monitor and manage patients with pulmonary conditions, ENT surgery, and post-surgical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to ICU and Med-Surg units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Participate in rapid response and code situations
• Follow infection control and isolation protocols
• Educate and support patients and their families
