Chef de Cuisine - Café Mado (Brooklyn, NY)

Café Mado is a Brooklyn staple from Redwood Hospitality, the team behind Place de Fetes and Golden Ratio. We are actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chef de Cuisine. This is a prime opportunity for a culinary leader ready to advance their career by creatively guiding a seasonal, produce-driven menu.

The Chef de Cuisine will partner closely with the Culinary Director and General Manager to oversee all aspects of daily kitchen operations, including prep, service execution, sourcing, and comprehensive staff support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Culture: Champion Redwood Hospitality's values and standards of excellence, fostering a positive, sustainable kitchen culture in partnership with the General Manager.
• Team Management: Oversee staff scheduling, training, and overall team performance.
• Culinary Development: Lead the creation and evolution of the menu, emphasizing seasonal ingredients.
• Financial & Operational Oversight: Manage operational tasks, financial duties, purchasing, and maintaining cost controls.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure the highest standards for food quality, guest experience, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional kitchen experience.
• Current NYC Food Handler’s Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one quickly).
• A genuine interest in seasonal cooking and building relationships with local purveyors.
• Ability to lift 40+ pounds.
• Basic proficiency with Google Docs/Sheets.
• An eagerness to grow into larger leadership roles within the company.
