Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
The purpose of this position is:
Responsible for the fabrication of optical and mechanical components; builds and tests product. Applies training and skills to plan and perform operations. Troubleshoots equipment and/or process issues. Trains others.
This position includes significant duties such as:
- Interprets blueprints and work instructions.
- Configures, programs, and operates machines.
- Monitors and adjusts process within the limits of the standard set-up.
- Completes precision assembly of complex modules.
- Performs quality tests, measurements, and inspections.
- Performs process and equipment troubleshooting.
- Trains peers on qualified operations.
- Prepares materials.
- Interfaces with plant systems (e.g., document control, manufacturing execution system, etc.).
- Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance.
- Communicates effectively and updates/maintains records when required.
- Actively engages with continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.
- Performs other Operations Associate job duties as required.
Working Conditions:
- Good working conditions.
- Frequently lifts or moves materials up to 5 pounds.
- Occasionally lifts or moves materials up to 15 pounds.
- Rarely lifts or moves materials in excess of 15 pounds.
- Minimal exposure to disagreeable elements.
- Cleanroom environment prevalent.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required; technology based AAS preferred.
- Experience:
- 3+ years experience with precision manufacturing operations.
Salary range $23.00 - $24.00
