Business Development Representative
PART-TIME BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Job Type: Part-Time (15–25 hours per week)
Location: Schenectady County and surrounding Capital Region
Compensation: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour, plus performance bonuses
Pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and performance.
Position Overview
Caring Transitions of Schenectady is seeking a compassionate and relationship-driven Part-Time Business Development Representative. This role focuses on building referral relationships within the senior services community and with Realtors, estate and elder law attorneys, and other local professionals to generate qualified leads for our transition services.
This is a relationship-building role centered around serving seniors and families during downsizing, relocation, estate sales, and home cleanouts.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable initiating conversations both in person and by phone.
Responsibilities
Build Referral Relationships
Prospect and connect with referral partners including senior living communities, assisted living facilities, estate and elder law attorneys, Realtors, financial planners, senior placement professionals, and social workers
Schedule and conduct introductory meetings and facility tours
Attend networking events and community outreach activities
Maintain consistent follow-up with referral partners
Represent Caring Transitions professionally in the community
Lead Qualification and Coordination
Qualify incoming leads and gather initial client information
Coordinate appointments between prospects and the Caring Transitions team
Ensure smooth handoff from referral source to operations
Account Management
Maintain regular contact with existing referral partners
Provide updates and educational materials
Request referrals and strengthen partnerships
CRM and Reporting
Track outreach activity and referral conversations in CRM
Maintain organized notes and follow-up schedule
Monitor performance metrics including contacts, meetings, and referral volume
Requirements
Experience in relationship-based sales, business development, or community outreach
Comfortable with cold outreach and in-person networking
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Organized and self-motivated
Familiarity with CRM systems preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and email tools
Reliable transportation for local travel
Preferred Experience
Experience working with senior communities or healthcare
Knowledge of real estate, estate planning, or senior services
Understanding of referral-based sales environments
