Assignment Details

• Contract Length: 13 Weeks

• Shift: Mid Shift | 3 × 12-hour shifts

• Shift Hours: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Position Overview

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department with mixed adult and pediatric acuity. The RN will assess, monitor, and manage patients with acute and complex conditions while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Staffing & Scheduling

• Patient Ratios: 1:5 (mixed/shared acuity)

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Float Requirement: Yes – based on census needs

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 1 year of Emergency Department experience

• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must reside more than 75 miles away)

• Pending License: Not accepted

Required Certifications

• BLS

• ACLS

• PALS

• NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills & Competencies

Emergency Department Skills

• Combined Adult & Pediatric Emergency Care

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

• Emergency medication administration

• Blood product administration

• Central line care and management

• Phlebotomy and IV initiation

• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics

• IV vasopressor management

• Procedural sedation administration

• Stroke (CVA) care

• Isolation precautions

Technology & Documentation

• EMR/Charting System: EPIC (Preferred)

Scheduling & Policy Notes

• Minimal RTO preferred

• Block scheduling may be considered but is not guaranteed

• Flexibility required to meet department staffing needs

Scrubs

• Any combination of navy and white
