CANNABIS CHEMIST

Location: Halfmoon, NY

Shift: 1st shift 8am-4pm

Payrate: $25/hour

The Role

• Perform chemical and analytical testing of cannabis products (e.g., flower, extracts, edibles)

• Prepare samples, reagents, and standards according to SOPs and regulatory requirements

• Develop and validate analytical methods for potency, residual solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, terpenes, and microbial contaminants

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance

• Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, GMP, GLP, and state cannabis testing regulations

• Monitor industry trends and advancements in analytical techniques and cannabis science

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory workspace in accordance with safety protocols

Working Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

• Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.

• Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with the product.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory setting

• Proficiency with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, or ICP-MS

• Strong understanding of chemical testing methodologies and method validation

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as ISO/IEC 17025, GMP, and/or GLP

• Excellent attention to detail, data integrity, and analytical accuracy

• Experience working with LIMS or other lab data management systems

• Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

• Effective communication skills-both written and verbal

• (Preferred) Prior experience in cannabis testing, phytochemical analysis, or a regulated industry

• (Preferred) Knowledge of state-specific cannabis testing regulations (e.g., [insert state])
