Chosen Family Law Center is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced New York City-based Communications and Program Director who is passionate about advancing the rights and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ individuals and non-nuclear families. This role is our second full-time hire and offers the opportunity to lead impactful communications, professional education programs, and strategic partnership efforts – fostering strong connections and building powerful support for our work in direct services, education, and legislative advocacy.
Our mission-driven, high-performing team is small, collaborative, and made up of members of the communities impacted by our work. We prioritize a client- and community-led, trauma-informed, and accountability-focused perspective. The ideal candidate will share those values and be excited to collaborate on building the world we want to live in. We also highly value our ability to bring our whole selves into the work and are committed to supporting each other’s holistic well-being, continued professional development, and liberation.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are excited to bring a full-time Communications & Program Director (CPD) onto our team to help drive the next chapter of growth and impact. We are seeking a resourceful, organized, creative, and experienced team member to focus on communications and programs, which may include:
- crafting compelling outreach materials (pitch decks, one pagers, newsletters, press releases, social content) and full management of social media posting and public brand,
- leading the launch, marketing, and administration of our new Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program and National Referral Network,
- overseeing public education efforts and liaising with/booking speaking engagements,
- enhancing or revamping our existing website with support from staff and contractors,
- leading tabling efforts for community engagement and supporting at fundraising events,
- building strategic partnerships for program expansion, and
- managing media and community-facing relationships.
The CPD will be comfortable engaging with community members via tabling, participating in coalition meetings as an organizational representative, and building new partnerships. This is a hybrid online and in-person (NYC) position. Given the significant resources of initial training for our small staff, we hope for an intention to stay in this position for at least two years. This position will directly report to our Executive Director, collaborate deeply with our Development Director, and work in close coordination with all staff on content and program development.
