This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge biotechnology innovations while collaborating with leading patent attorneys on high-profile matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with clients to identify and evaluate patentable inventions in organic chemistry, molecular biology, and cellular biology
• Provide expert technical assistance to patent attorneys in preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO
• Conduct comprehensive patent searches, prior art analysis, and freedom-to-operate studies
• Support patent attorneys in intellectual property transactions, including due diligence and patent portfolio analysis
• Prepare detailed technical memoranda and patent office responses
• Assist in developing patent prosecution strategies for life sciences clients
• Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to legal teams and clients

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Cellular Biology (Required)
• USPTO registration as a Patent Agent
• Prior experience working in intellectual property at a law firm
• Strong academic credentials with demonstrated excellence in life sciences research
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build client relationships
