Job Summary

The Junior Financial Accountant assists in timely financial closings, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other projects as directed by the Financial Controller's team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Prepare financial workpapers
• Prepare and record journal entries
• Assist in data entry for accounts payable and receivables
• Analyze general ledger accounts
• Research and prepare applications for state and license registrations
• Assistance with contract work-in-progress schedules
• Assist with resolving financial flow and issues from the estimating and construction departments
• Assist with payroll imports for job costing purposes
• Assist with financial software implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance
• One year or more of accounting experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and organization, follow-through, and follow-ups, meet commitments and deadlines
• Solid computer skills. Must enjoy spending time with spreadsheets
• Detail-oriented and results-oriented, while providing support to the team and other processes
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities
• Ability to effectively interface with all departments of the company in a highly professional manner
• Adaptability to changing demands

Computer Systems

• Excellent computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office product applications (ex. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Proficiency in business software application Timberline

Salary Information

• To the extent this position is performed in New York, the annual salary range for this role is $65,000 - 80,000.

The range stated is specific to New York. Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, project size capability (for Construction related & Field specific roles) and internal company equity.
